AC Milan has formalized and signed Portugal striker Andre Silva in a €38 million deal from Porto and will wear Milan’s No.10 jersey.
The 21-year-old strker signed a five-year contract up until 2022 after a series of medical and agreeing personal terms.
Silva’s move to Milan, who finished sixth Serie A last season, became the Italian side’s fourth signing in 14 days along with Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie and Ricardo Rodriguez – totalling a massive €99m between the four of them.
Silva scored 21 goals in all competitions last season with Porto and had seven goals from eight caps in an amazing start to his developing career.
Moreover, Portugal national football team confirmed the departure of their forward striker to Milan.
Silva expresses his happiness to what he called a “prestigious club”.
“I’m very happy to have joined such a prestigious club with such a great history. I can guarantee I will give everything I can to help this club realise their ambitions.” Silva said.
A move to Milan will naturally give different challenges for the striker and for sure there will be a pressure for him hitting the ground given the big amount paid for the young athlete.
Now that he sealed his transfer to Serie A, Silva will now play alongside his iconic international teammate at the Confederations Cup in Russia this month.
