The first ODI between Australia and Pakistan starts at the Gabba, Brisbane, tomorrow. Australia, having swept the test series, are the firm favourites to win the ODI series as well. But Pakistan are expected to put up much more resistance in the shorter format. After all, it was in Australia that Pakistan scaled their highest peak in world cricket – winning the World Cup in 1992. So, do not write them off in cricket betting.
Preview – Australia
Australia are trying to rebuild their team. Aaron Finch and Geroge Bailey have been omitted. Josh hazlewood has been rested. Pat Cummins and newcomer Billy Stanlake will feature along with Mitchell Starc. The batting will revolve around as usual suspects, David Warner, Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja. Highly talked-about Chris Lynn is likely to make his debut. The presence of some impact all-rounders like James Faulkner, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell adds depth and balance to the Aussie squad. Pakistan will have to play at their best to cause an upset. Tread the adventurous cricket betting floors carefully.
Preview – Pakistan
Pakistan have become consistent – finally. The only problem is that they have been losing consistently, not the other way around. Pakistan will be without Mohammed Irfan and Sarfraz Ahmed, both of whom returned to Pakistan to attend personal emergencies. Their bowling looked toothless in the test series. Batting was too slow. They need a refreshing change in their approach. It is better to watch how skipper Azhar Ali marshal his resources in the first ODI before plunging into the cricket betting, to bet in favour of them.
Australia have the clear upper hand. But Pakistan cannot be written off.
