Another tennis player decided to withdraw her application in the 2016 summer Olympics as she prioritized her upcoming campaigns in US Open.
As devastating as it may seems but Belinda Bencic will not be able to participate in the said event. It will be of great challenge for the Swiss tennis team as Roger Federer also made his withdrawal earlier due to knee injury.
The youngest player said that she is not yet ready to compete in the said event eventhough her injured left wrist has healed. The said injury limits the participation of the 19-years old player at the Wimbledon wherein she needs to back-out during the second round of the competition.
With that being said Bencic will take some rest as she prepares for the US Open that will take place on the 29th of August. The great challenge now will be given to Martina Hingis who was expected to play doubles with Bencic and mixed double with the world’s number three Federer.
Aside from Bencic, Maria Sharapova was also out in the competition due to doping suspension. Victoria Azarenka won’t be able to play due to pregnancy. Simona Halep and Karolina Pliskova are also out on the scene.
For the men side, Milos Raonic and Tomas Berdych decided not to participate on the said event.
