India’s only ATP grand Prix tennis event – the Chennai Open – has moved to its climax phase. Semi-finals will be held today and the final tomorrow. The semi-final line-up has some surprises. Top players Marin Čilić, Borna Ćorić, and Mikhail Youzhny are out. In the first semi-final, young aspirant Daniil Sergeyevich Medvedev clashes with veteran journey man David “Dudi” Sela. In the second semi, the second seed Roberto Bautista Agut meets the fifth seed Benoît Paire. You can enjoy the tennis while making some money in online winning. All you have to do is to pick the winner correctly. Who is going to win? Let us take a step by step approach.
First Semi: Medvedev vs Dudi Sela
The 20-year-old Medvedev is one of the upcoming stars in world tennis. The Russian, who made his professional debut last year, is currently ranked 99th. He has looked comfortable right through the tournament. He has not been tested properly yet in the tournament. The 31-year-old Sela too has had a good tournament so far. He ousted the third seed Albert Ramos Viñolas in the quarter final in a tough match. To whom should you place your money in online betting? Well, Medvedev looks a better player and he is more likely to advance to the finals.
Second Semi: Bautista Agut vs Benoît Paire
The second seed Bautista Agut came back from one set down to beat Youzhny in the quarter-finals. He is ranked 14 in the World ATP ranking and is the highest ranked player left in the fray. Benoît Paire, ranked 196th in the word, had a remarkable 2016, as he came back well from an injury-forced break. Both the players will be eager to win the tournament. However, Bautista Agut looked to be in better form and is the prime candidate for finals.
Final – Preview
It is most likely to be Medvedev vs Bautista Agut. If you go by the form on paper, it is going to be Bautista Agut. The Spaniard is a good clay court player. He does not have much tournament glory in hard courts, on which the Chennai Open is being held. Medvedev, on the other hand, has a powerful game, which is more suitable to hard courts. It is hard to predict a winner. Experience favours Bautista Agut, while the current momentum sides with Medvedev. Take your pick in online betting.
