12BET Predictions BBL 2020-21 Eliminator: Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers

0

Brisbane Heat will face off against the Adelaide Strikers in the first Eliminator of the Big Bash League 2020-21 season. The tournament has reached the business end and things could get quite interesting. It will be a last chance for one of those teams to leave their mark on the tournament.

Adelaide Strikers

With Travis Head back from national duty, the team will get a huge bolster and Alex Carey is expected to play only in the wicketkeeper-batsman’s capacity as the former will wear the arm band. The Strikers have emerged victorious in the last three occasions, the two teams met, the most recent memory being Carey’s explosive hundred. Their season on one hand has been pretty average but on the other, this team carries momentum and can beat Brisbane on a given day.

Brisbane Heat

A much more balanced side than Brisbane has ever seen will take on Gabba. After Carey’s knock, handing them defeat only a few days ago, Heat would want their bowlers to get rid of the opener as soon as possible. Their record against Adelaide, in the last three Big Bash League seasons, Heat have not qualified for playoffs, which makes 2016-2017 theri last appearance when they settled as the second semi-finalist.

However, if one talks about the team that has had a consistent season amongst the two it is Brisbane. Power hitters, bowlers and big names, Heat carry what is needed for a title.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Adelaide Strikers and the Brisbane Heat have faced each other a total of 12 times already. The Strikers have managed to win a total of seven matches. On the other hand, the Heat have won five matches.

PREDICTION:

A balanced pitch at Gabba will see the first team aim for at least 160-170. However, with bowlers and batsmen getting even say, one would like to see Brisbane Heat win this match.

Steketee, Swepson and Barlett are expected to enjoy the pitch. In the batting department, Marnus Labuschagne just played a Test century knock at this ground, he must get a good score.
