Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Risers Hyderabad will go at loggerheads with each other on this Friday in Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams have had a mixed start to the tournament and will want to win regularly in order to secure a place in the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai lost two out of their three games in this season and ranked at the penultimate position. Their backbone Suresh Raina’s absent is dearly felt in these three games. As Ambati Rayudu was suffering from a hamstring strain in the last few days, Chennai look mediocre team without Rayudu and Raina in their line-up.
Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo are fit no and available to play this game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Bravo will provide balance to the team and a good death bowling option. Faf du Plessis is in fine form this season. He amassed 173 runs in just three games in this season with a strike rate of 149.14. Though skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni looked out of form as he didn’t play any games for a year before IPL.
His batting position is continuing to be a subject of debate as he batted in lower-order after Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja for Chennai in last games. As Rayudu and Bravo will take part in this game, Dhoni would like to figure out best batting position for him as his finishing prowess at vain. Chennai will like to get some important points in this game against Sunrisers.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their both games in this season and ranked at last position in the points table. Skipper David Warner is yet to fire in this season. Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey looked in fine form in this season. But their middle-order is a big concern. They have a very inexperienced middle-order in this season. Manish Pandey and Wriddhiman Saha need to up their game to increase their strike rate.
Their bowling line-up comprising with Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed looked in fine touch. Rashid Khan can be their trump card in remaining games. They can opt for Blackcaps skipper Kane Williamson at the one-down position to make their batting stronger. They will be looking forward to defeating Chennai Super Kings to open their account in the points table.
These two teams played each other 13 times from 2013 where Chennai Super Kings won 10 of them and Sunrisers Hyderabad won 3 games.
Chennai Super Kings are more likely to win this match as they are looking forward to bouncing back.
