England will be eager to wrap up the three-match series when they take on South Africa for the second T-20 international at Taunton tomorrow. England defeated South Africa comfortably by nine wickets in the first T-20. Their bowlers restricted South Africa to 142 for three. Then they chased the target down in 14.3 overs. It was an utterly dominant performance that will put South Africa in the back foot for the entire series. That is why the hosts will be the favourites for Cricket betting. But South Africa have enough firepower in them to effect a reversal of fortunes.
Preview – England
England had a text-book perfect game in the first T-20. Their bowlers picked early wickets. South Africa lost their first wickets when they scored just seven runs and lost one more by the time they reached 32. They did not lose a wicket again. But England bowlers did not allow them to explode with the bat. AB de Villiers scored an unbeaten 65. But he was well-tamed by the English pace bowlers on that day. David Willey and Mark Wood were sensational upfront. Chris Jordan was accurate. Liam Dawson’s slow left-arm spinners sowed seeds of doubt in de Villiers.
England showed remarkable power-hitting against a good bowling attack. Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales were unstoppable. If they continue like this, they will be hard to catch. If you are planning to punt your money into England, go ahead. (Check match odds) All the omens are good.
Preview – South Africa
South Africa need to get their batting right. At the moment their batting is infused with too much self doubt and caution. They need to bat fearless and bat explosively. Against England’s long batting order, they need to score big. The current approach is not at all suited for the purpose. A good thing for South Africa is that de Villiers has shown glimpses of his old form in the previous match. The others also need to come to the party now.
