The most attended cricket tournament in world is about to get started as the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) unfolds on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
IPL 2019 will feature eight teams representing eight cities and six states of India, with 62 total matches.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the reigning champions, will open the tournament against Royal Challengers (RCB) at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai around 10:30 PM (GMT +8).
Former Indian team skipper M.S. Dhoni will lead the CSK squad, while Indian captain Virat Kohli will head RCB. Chennai Super Kings have qualified 7 times for IPL finals, winning the tournament thrice. They are considered to be the favorites this season too.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore has qualified for the finals 3 times in the past, but they are still searching for their first IPL title.
