IPL 2017 is all set to begin. In the first match of the tournament tomorrow, Sunrisers Hyderbad take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in Hyderabad. RCB will be without their skipper Virat Kohli. That is the biggest news from their camp. Still there is no shortage of stars in their line-up. AB de Villiers will lead the team in Kohli’s absence. The team also has Chris Gayle and Shane Watson.
They will be up against David Warner and company. The Hyderabad team will miss the service of Mustafizur Rahman, who is on national duty in Sri Lanka. But they do have the service of Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra and Kane Williamson. So this will be a star-studded opening match. There will be plenty of opportunities for cricket betting. Here are a few tips to bet smartly on IPL.
Don’t Get Swayed by Opening Matches
The teams will be rusty in the opening days. So do not just get yourself swayed by the results of opening matches. Some teams tend to begin well, say like Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils. But they may not sustain the momentum. On the other hand, some teams like Mumbai Indians tend to start slowly. They may lose a couple of early matches. But they can go on a winning spree once they find momentum. Then there are other teams like Kolkata Knightriders, who normally qualify in most of the IPLs. In short, don’t put your money on cricket betting solely on the basis of early momentum of teams.
Home Advantage is Tricky
Not all teams possess the intangible thing called home advantage. It is difficult to beat Knightriders in Kolkata. The same is the case with Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, especially after they find their rhythm. Royal Challengers get vociferous support in Bangalore as well. Apart from these teams, none of the others teams can boast of any home advantage.
Bet on the Aussies
The Australians generally do well in cricket. But this season, they are likely to do even etter. They have been in India for quite a long time for the test series. By now, they will be extremely familiar with the conditions. Expect them to do well. Steven Smith, David Warner, and Pat Cummins all are likely to play a stellar role for their franchisees. The Aussies seem a safe bet as far as the Cricket Odds are concerned.
