After 10 weeks of hectic football, there is a still crowd at the top of the English Premier points table. As many as five teams have a realistic chance of reaching the top after this weekend if the results go in their favor. This week has some exciting games both for plain watching and for online betting. Here are the matches of the weekend.
Manchester City vs Middlesbrough
West Ham vs Stoke City
Burnley vs Crystal Palace
Bournemouth vs Sunderland
Chelsea vs Everton
Arsenal vs Tottenham
Hull City vs Southampton
Liverpool vs Watford
Swansea City vs Man United
Leicester City vs West Brom
Marquee Match of the Week
It has to be the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham. Spurs were the better team last season. They have looked more defensively organized than the Gunners, which is evident in the fact that they have conceded just five goals from 10 games. Contrast this with other teams: Arsenal have conceded 10, Liverpool 13 and Manchester City 9 goals. Arsenal will find it hard to break the Spurs’ defense. However, Tottenham have not been prolific in scoring goals as the other top-five teams are. For online betting, expect a low-scoring match.
In the last 10 matches between these sides, Arsenal have won four, while Tottenham have won two. Four matches, including the last two outings, were draws. For the record, the last time Tottenham won at the Emirates was in 2010. They look good this time. The odds of online booking for a Tottenham win, or a draw, is attractive.
Other Interesting Matches
Chelsea welcome Everton this weekend. The Blues are in red hot form after their 4-0 demolition of Manchester United. But Everton too are in good form, even though they are finding it hard to maintain the tempo of their excellent start. They have been in terrific form defensively. If any defense can resist the Chelsea attack at the moment, it is going to be Everton’s. The odds of online betting for a draw looks rewarding, but it can be risky if Chelsea’s army of attackers find their rhythm.
There will be a temptation for trying to cash in on Manchester United’s recent miseries. They are visiting Swansea this weekend. The odds for a Swansea win or a draw looks tempting. However, tread carefully in online betting for any such moves. United are a far too good side to struggle for long. There is quality in their ranks. Swansea could just bear the brunt of that quality.
