AC Milan has officially confirmed that they signed Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez.
According to the club, they took Rodriguez to a four-year contract up until June, 2021.
The financial details were not announced but Milan reportedly pays Wolfsburg a transfer fee of £13 million plus £2.6m in performance-related bonuses.
The 24-year-old defender showed and signed the papers live online and shook hands with the directors Marco Fassone and Massimo Mirabelli.
Rodriguez is a Swiss International that becomes the Rossoneri’s third new signing this summer following Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie to Milanello.
He’s already in Milan for the medical exams and he has given a tour of the Milan headquarters and trophy room.
Rodrigues had 45 International caps and played 24 times in the Bundesliga last season taking him to a total of 149 outings in Germany’s top flight.
In addition, he did not forget to thank his former club for an amazing five seasons and for shaping his career.
“We experienced and achieved a lot together. I have developed as a player and as a person, always feeling very comfortable and having won a lot of friends. However, now is the time for me to take the next step in my career. Milan are a top international club and a big new challenge for me.” Rodriguez said to Wolfsburg’s official website
