Manager Antonio Conte admitted that he wants Chelsea to agree contract extension with Thibaut Cuortois and Eden Hazard prior the summer’s World Cup.
Conte has claimed that the star players have not yet showed the fullest of their powers and thus capable of helping the team lift victory in the matches ahead.
Hazard recently contributed to Chelsea’s two goals as they beat Newscastle in 3-1 encounter at the Samford Bridge on weekend.
Meanwhile, Courtois has upheld his reputation as one of the toughest goal keepers to get past through since his return to the Blues after three years on loan at Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2014.
“I can give my opinion about these two players and, for me; they are two great players, especially because they have a lot of space for improvement. They are very young players and it will be great to keep them with us.
“Thibaut is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Maybe the best now. And also Eden. But I think the club knows very well the importance of these two players and I think they are very happy to play for this club. It is normal during the season to have the contact between the player — or the agent of the player — and the club. I hope that at the end, Thibaut will sign his contract,” expressed the reigning Premier League champs manager.
