Arsenal have announced respected chief scout Sven Mislintat as the Gunners’ new head of recruitment in hopes to overhaul the club’s league campaign this season.
Mislintat is amongst the well-known talents spotters in Europe after guiding Dortmund on acquiring the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Shinji Kagawa, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raphael Guerreiro, and Ousmane Dembele in recent years.
In a statement, Wenger expressed his joy for having Sven in the squad and furthered, “Identifying and developing talent is a core part of our philosophy and Sven has an outstanding track record over many years. We look forward to him taking our existing recruitment approach forwards.
“We would like to thank Steve Rowley for all his hard work over many years for the club. He has been a key figure in our recruitment of so many top players and has travelled thousands and thousands of miles, watching hundreds of games for us during his time at the club. We wish him well for the future.”
Following Arsenal’s underwhelming performance last season, the hiring of the 45-year-old German is the clearest proof that Arsenal CEO, Ivan Gazidis is taking big steps on how to turn around the Gunners performance this football term.
