The long wait is finally over as FC Barcelona has already confirmed that their record signing Ousmane Dembele is now ready and fit to play for the club after his lengthy recovery from a thigh injury.
According to the statement in their official website, the 20-year-old France forward has been given go signal to play again after being sidelined for almost four months.
Going back, Dembele, who made just four appearances in all competitions, ruptured a tendon of the femoral biceps in his left thigh in Barca’s 2-1 victory against Getafe last September 16 that led to a surgery in Finland afterwards.
“Despite the need for an operation in Finland, Dembele quickly started his recovery process and has now been discharged by the club’s Medical Services. The 20-year-old is fit to play again after three-and-a-half months out with the injury.” Club wrote in fcbarcelona.com
With the good news, Blaugrana head coach Ernesto Valverde could possibly include Dembele to play over Celta Vigo on Friday, January 5 (GMT +8) in the round of 16 of Copa del Rey before they travel back at home to host Levante in La Liga on Sunday.
