After leading Benfica to their 26th Portugese Cup win, Ederson Moraes has sealed a deal with Manchester City in the Premier League.
City manager Pep Guardiola has been keeping eyes on the 23-year-old for some time now and took the opportunity to have the goalkeeper in his squad after releasing Willy Caballero recently.
But prior the deal, Moraes has already hinted on his exit saying that the Sunday’s 2-1 win over Vitoria Guimaraes was probably his final appearance in the club.
“Benfica has reached agreement with Citizens for the amount of €40m,” the club told the Portugese stock exchange.
Portugese champs also confirmed that 50% of the fee will be paid to “third parties”.
However, City sources disclosed that the transfer is still to be concluded until the third-party element is resolved to the Premier League’s satisfaction.
Moraes who’s yet to make full international debut, is in the squad for the forthcoming friendlies against Argentina and Australia.
