Monaco owner Dmitri Rybolovlev wants to keep hold of Wunderkind Kylian Mbappe but won’t entertain the idea stating that it is “the player who’ll decide his future”.
The 18-year-old striker has been prospected by giant clubs across different European leagues. And among the lists is a bid from Real Madrid which has been reported to offer a world record €120 million deal for the young footballer.
Rybolovlev, as much as he would like for the Monaco striker to stay, said that he will not stand in the way of any player who wants to leave the club.
“We don’t force things,” disclosed by the Russian club owner and followed up after being asked if he could refuse a €100 million bid, “Is he worth that sum? I don’t know. It is the market that will give the answer to that question. After that, it’s the player who’ll decide. In any case, we want Kylian to stay.”
Mbappe signed a three year contract last summer and has only made a handful of first-team appearances in 2015/16 season. But things took greater turn for him. The Monaco key figure had a spectacular contribution to his side in the UEFA Champions League semifinals which made his wanted by the giant clubs.
Meanwhile Mbappe, in an interview said, “I’ll be the only one who decides, along with my family. No one will decide for me.”
