Football saves Tottenham Dele Alli from an embroiled life

With a successful season in the English Premier League last term, Tottenham Hotspur  Dele Alli admitted how playing football saved and turned his life away from the dark road.

He revealed that these days are far cry from the ones he used to know while growing up and entering adolescence.

At 12 year old, Alli had fallen into the wrong circle of acquaintances.

“I got into trouble a few times when I was younger. I hung around with the wrong people when I was real young. With the older boys, I tried to do what they did. We weren’t in a very good area.”

But fortunately things took turn when a chance to play football came his way.

“[Football] gave me the opportunity to actually put my energy into something else than hanging out on the street at 12 years old until 2am.”

Alli crawled his way to join youth ranks at former club MK Dons before finally heading to White Hart Lane for a £5 million worth contract.

At present, the midfielder has made a name worldwide for his goal-scoring ability.
