Jose Mourinho urges Henrikh Mkhitaryan to raise the bar higher this season and become the creative force in Manchester United’s Premier League title bid.
By doing so, Mourinho believes that Mkhitaryan has to do more in games against the club’s domestic rivals that landed in the top six last term.
The 28-year-old went through a rough start at the Old Trafford after signing from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United, but eventually managed to display relatively good performance in the team’s successful Europa League campaign.
He managed to score six goals as United snatched the trophy for the first time, including one in the 2-0 victory over Ajax in the final play.
Despite this, United boss has expressed sentiments over the Armenian player’s ability to influence games against other English Premier League giants.
Nevertheless, Mourinho remains hopeful that an extended run in the starting XI will boost Mkhitaryan’s confidence to play with excellence as they face title-rival Liverpool on October 14 (check out the best betting odds on 12BET).
On the other hand, Mkhitaryan disclosed that his United States preseason tour necessitated him to create chances for Romelu Lukaku to score, which turned out just fine given the fact that the Lukaku was able to slot home two goals in the recent matches already.
