Ashley Young stole the show by scoring twice in 4-2 victory against Watford in an away encounter last Tuesday at the Vicarage Road.
Young opened score by dribbling in a very precise finish from the edge of the box at the 19th minute which was followed by another successful delivery by curling in a 25-yard free-kick six minutes after his first strike.
Anthony Martial ensured that United will completely dominate the first half by slotting home from 18 yards out.
Upon the restart, Watford came back with a goal delivery from Troy Deeney who scored a penalty and Abdoulaye Doucoure who poked home from inside the area with six minutes to go.
But United’s Jesse Lingard made his presence felt in the pitch by scoring his side’s fourth goal by picking the ball up inside his own half before driving forward into the box to settle the match.
“The second half should have been five or six-nil, it was easier to score than the first. We missed chances,” said Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.
“Out of nothing, they got a penalty for 3-1, and then it was a different game. It was an easy match to win comfortably. At 3-2 the game is in the balance then Lingard had the initiative to kill the game.”
