Paris Saint-Germain started their season bright with a 2-0 victory over Amiens at the Parc de Princes on weekend.
However, claiming success didn’t exactly come too easy on the side of Unai Emery. Adrian Rabiot nearly broke the deadlock before the 20th minute but he only rattled the crossbar with a thumping header.
The Parisians took another chance to score through Layvin Kurwasa who also failed to direct the ball into the goal.
The match displayed a sluggish battle with an almost one-way rally as Amiens barely threatened the home team.
A couple more minutes passed and the hosts finally opened score at 42nd minute when Edinson Cavani decisively powered home with assistance from Dani Alves.
Given the first goal, PSG became motivated and attempted to get to their second score. But Di Maria’s delivery was lacking control as he failed to tuck the ball into the goal.
The visitors nearly leveled through Seybou Keita but the striker’s shot was saved by goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
With only 10 minutes from full time, Emery’s men doubled their lead with Javier Pastore’s simple and yet significant slotting home, which brought his side to success.
Meanwhile, the Parisians are expected to square off Guingamp in an away encounter on Sunday (check out the best betting odds of the coming match on 12BET).
