Philippe Coutinho who missed out the Barcelona transfer is looking forward to his future at Liverpool.
Coutinho was greeted warmly by his supporters on Saturday’s 1-1 match draw against Burnley, although he wasn’t able to help gather more goals for his side.
In his first interview following the transfer saga, the 25-year-old star player expressed that having received bid from Barca was an honor, but playing for Liverpool was also of great honor.
“What I need to do is to work hard and to always do my best to help the team,” said the Brazillian midfielder.
Despite the controversial transfer block to join Ernesto Valverde’s men at Camp Nou, Coutinho also said, “I’ve never had a problem with anyone here. I’ve always respected the support very much of the groups—the players, the directors, the technical staff. And that hasn’t changed at all.”
When asked whether there is a possible move to La Liga club later on, the EPL player straight out said straight, “I’m in a place where I’m very respected by everyone and I also always respect everyone.”
“The respect I have for them [the fans]and the respect they have for me appears to be maintained. What I need to do is to work hard and to always do my best to help the team.”
