Liverpool Sadio Mane is ruled out for six weeks after picking up hamstring injury while on international duty.
Mane was replaced by Cheikh Ndoye at the 87th minute of World Cup qualifiers game against Cape Verde last October 8.
“Sadio Mane is facing a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury on international duty, Liverpool FC can confirm,” a club statement read.
The injury is a big blow on the side of Jurgen Klopp considering that Mane is playing an integral role in the club’s Premier League and Champions League title hopes.
The Senegalese player has appeared nine times for the Reds this season after his recovery period from knee surgery.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is bound to face Manchester United on Saturday, October 14, which also marks Mane’s first match of being ruled out.
Also, prior the injury, Mane has already missed English Premier League matches for getting a suspension with regard to his send off at Manchester City last September.
