Watford F.C. has confirmed that they have signed Burnley F.C. striker Andre Gray to a five year contract at Vicarage Road stadium.
The terms and agreements did not disclosed by the club but it was thought to be a club record fee worth £18.5 million with the fee for his move from Turf Moore.
In a statement on the Hornets website, Watford said that they were “delighted to announce the signing of Gray for a club record transfer fee.”
The club also announced the transfer on their official Twitter account that features Gray in a short video clip saying: “Hello, my name is Andre Gray. I am delighted to have joined Watford and cannot wait to get going.”
The 26-year-old forward, who joined Burnley in 2016 from Brentford F.C., was in the last 12 months of his contract and had turned down the new deal at Turf Moor.
In his 26 appearances in the Premier League last season, Gray netted nine goals for Burnley and 24 goals in his first season with the club that tallied to a total of 33 goals.
Gray is the latest summer signings from the new Watford boss Marco Silva which includes Brazilian forward Richarlison from Fluminense, Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley, fellow midfielder Will Hughes from Derby and Chelsea defender Nathaniel Chalobah.
