F1 United States Grand Prix: Online Betting Preview

The 17th race of the Formula One Season will be wroomed off in Circuit of the Americas in Elroy, Texas, on this Sunday, and this year’s title could well be decided on that day. Just three more races remain after this race. Lewis Hamilton’s mid-season renaissance has taken him to the top of the table, with a handy 59-point lead over the nearest rival Sebastian Vettel. If Hamilton finishes first and Vettel finishes sixth or lower, the title will be Hamilton’s. The same happens also if Hamilton finishes second and Vettel finishes 10th or lower and Valtteri Bottas finishes third or lower. What are the odds of online betting in Hamilton clinching the title this weekend?

The Circuit

If you look at the recent record at this circuit, you will agree that the chances of Hamilton winning are very high. The current circuit has been in use since 2012. Hamilton has won all the races here, except in 2013. That is a formidable record. Vettel won here in 2013.

The circuit looks like an inverted shoe. There are a couple of reasonably lengthy straight stretches, but there are a couple of tricky curves as well. This is a fast circuit, especially favouring the Mercedes car. If you look at the circuit characteristics and the recent history, you will straight away back Hamilton in online betting.

Recent Form

Recent form will also tell a similar story. Ferrari has suffered poor form and awful luck in the last three races. Their recent slump is also a reason for Hamilton’s sudden rise. Vettel has been providing spirited sound bytes, perhaps to keep his team’s morale high. But the title may have already lost. Hamilton was at his flying best in the practice sessions on Monday. He is very much likely to grab the pole. Vettel was lacklustre in the practise sessions. He would need something like a short miracle to win the title from here.

Prediction for Online betting: Hamilton to win the race. But he may not win the title on Sunday.
