The final test match of New Zealand’s Indian tour commences at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, tomorrow. Indore is not a popular or traditional venue for test cricket. In fact this is the first time a test match is going to be held at this venue. The Indian domestic matches played here over the years indicate that the pitch here offers consistently good bounce and seam movement when the conditions are suitable. New Zealand will hope that the indications remain true. However, in India, it is not a test pitch if it does not take turn from the third day. India have already sealed the series with back-to-back wins in the first tests. Their dominance must give an indication of where to go in online betting. India are certainly primed to make this a clean sweep.
Preview – India
This is a pitch best suit for the crafty seam bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But he is out of the squad after a back injury. Shardul Thakur has been drafted in as his replacement. Either Thakur or Umesh Yadav will partner with Mohammed Shami. The spin bowling attack looks settled, with Ravindra Jadeja emerging as the most suitable foil for Ashwin.
The batting has not looked dominant at any stage in the series. New Zealand bowlers have bowled well. Still, the Indian batsmen seemed a bit short in patience. Virat Kohli’s form will be under scrutiny. He has not scored even a half century in the series. Gautam Gambhir is likely to make his long-awaited comeback into the test cricket.
Preview – New Zealand
New Zealand have had their moments in the series. Had they seized them, the situation would have been much different now. The online betting odds would have changed. They bowled really well, especially in the first innings. But the bowlers failed to land that final killer punch.
New Zealand’s batting was a letdown. They struggled against Ashwin right throughout the series. In Kolkata, they were undone by pace and swing of the Indian bowlers. Kane Williamson’s injury-forced absence in Kolkata did not help either.
Williamson is likely to play in Indore. James Neesham is another player who is likely to come into the eleven. Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor have a last chance to contribute something meaningful to the team’s cause. If the pitch in Indore holds true to its self, Trent Boult and Matt Hentry will be more than handful.
India appear the overwhelming favourites after the psychological advantage they gained after the wins in the first two tests. So refrain from taking any undue risks in online betting!
