The world’s number 3, Roger Federer express his frustration on his Facebook page as he will miss the most awaited summer Olympics due to knee injury.
The Swiss professional tennis player won’t be representing his country in the most awaited event and will miss out the whole season as well.
“I’m extremely disappointed” this is the first statement that the well-known player posts in his facebook page which gathered a lot of reaction in the online world. His doctor suggested that he must need to take some time to rest in order to be healed. It was indeed a difficult decision to make but it will be for the best.
He needs to give up the said tournament in order to continue his career on the ATP world tour the following year. Medication will take time, as he wants to have a good body condition free from injury before a new season start.
The 34-years old athlete said that he was somehow happy saying that he only had a few complications throughout his career. He also said that his love for tennis will never fade away. He thank the fans who keep on motivating him through thick and thin.
It was supposed to be his fifth appearance in the said event, wherein he bag away a silver in men singles back in 2012 London Olympics, and gets to win a gold medal in Beijing with his partner Stan Wawrinka.
This will also be the first time that the five-time champion will miss out the U.S. Open.
