Indian Premier League 2017 is gaining momentum. Mumbai Indians, usually a slow starter, are in the lead with an early push. They are followed by Kolkata Knightriders, Delhi Daredevils, Hyderabad Sunrisers and Kings XI Punjab. Four of the top-five teams are in action today. Delhi Daredevils host Kolkata Knightriders and Hyderabad Sunrisers welcome Kings XI Punjab. Both the matches will be terrific to watch as well as for betting. One thing is clear. It is hard to pick a winner in either of the matches. Here is our preview to help you with your online betting calculations.
Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knightriders – Preview
None of these teams have any weak links. Both the teams have exciting batting line-up and menacing bowling unit. But their methods vary.
While Kolkata Knight Riders boast of some of the proven match-winning batsmen of the IPL history, Daredevils have some of the most exciting young batsmen in the IPL arena. Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan will come to bat for KKR. Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer will shoulder batting responsibility of the Delhi outfit.
In bowling, KKR relies on their array of spinners – Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav and Shakib Al Hasan. On the other hand, Daredevils have a strong pace bowling unit, comprising Zaheer Khan, Pat Cummins and Chris Morris.
Prediction for cricket betting: The teams are equal in all counts. Daredevils have a better pace bowling unit (check odds on DD now). That makes them the favourites to win this match.
Hyderabad Sunrisers vs Kings XI Punjab – Preview
In this match also, both the contenders have many things in common. For instance, both the teams have made a good start to the tournament, but wasted away the advantage in the later matches. They have both won two each out of the four games they played. And both are desperately looking for a win.
Sunrisers have twin advantages. They are playing at home and they have a better all-round unit than the Punja outfit. However, their batting seems to have failed as a collective unit in forcing the pace. David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan tend to give the team good starts, but not explosive ones. Yuvraj Singh, when he gets going, is still the cleanest hitter around. However, they lack strong pinch-hitting muscle men in their line-up. In bowling, Sunrisers do not have any obvious weakness.
Kings XI Punjab are what Sunrisers aren’t. The Punjab team has some exceptional strikers: Glen Maxwell, David Miller, Eoin Morgan and Manan Vohra. But the batting is prone to collapses. The bowling too is handy, with the likes of Sandeep Sharma, Varun Aaron and Axar Patel operating.
Prediction for cricket betting: It will be a tough call. But Hyderabad Sunrisers look set to come back to winning ways. (check odds on SRH now)
