In the second match of the playoffs in the Indian Premier League 2017, Kolkata Knight Riders lock horns against Hyderabad Sunrisers in Bangalore. The winner of the match will meet Mumbai Indians in the same venue a couple of days later, while the loser will crash out of the tournament. Over the course of this tournament, both the teams have followed a somewhat similar trend in form. They were the early high-flyers, but could not sustain momentum. In the end, they did just enough to book the playoffs berth. As for cricket betting prediction, there is no clear-cut favourite here. Both the teams have become strangely inconsistent of late.
Sunrisers Hyderabad – Preview
The team does have injury worries. Yuvraj Singh will need to prove his fitness. But it is expected that he will play. Mohammad Nabi too is nursing a niggle. If both of them are unavailable, it will be a crucial blow for the team. A lot will depend on two things for Sunrisers: 1. How David Warner bats and 2. How Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowls. If both click, Sunrisers will be unstoppable. What is good for them is the improved performance of young Indian players like Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Siraj and Siddarth Kaul. However, there is nothing advantageous for the team that warrants a cricket betting slant towards them.
Kolkata Knight Riders – Preview
All is not well for the Kolkata team. Their batting seems to have the habit of letting the team down on crucial occasions. The return of Chris Lynn – to partner Sunil Narine at the top of the order – has made the top order truly explosive. If the opening partnership fails, it will be a big test for Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Maneesh Pandey and Yusuf Pathan. The team tends to rely on explosive starts. The pitch in Bangalore is no more the batting beauty it once was. It tends to assist spinners. That will be good news for KKR and their spin due of Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav.
Prediction for cricket betting: This is a battle between equals. Hard to predict. Still, Kolkata Knight Riders seem to have the better team for the conditions (check Match Odds).
