Miami Open tennis begins at the hard courts of Tennis Center at Crandon Park, Miami, tomorrow. Novak Djokovic, who has won five of the last six Miami Open crowns, is not playing. World number one Andy Murray too is not taking part.
All these make Roger Federer, fresh from his triumph at Indian Wells Masters, the hot favourite. Incidentally, Federer won here last in 2006. Are you ready to put your money on the ageing maestro for online betting? Go on. He is still worth a punt.
Preview – Federer
Federer is seeded fourth in this tournament. Stan Wawrinka, who lost to Federer in the Indian Wells Masters final, is the top seed. Kei Nishikori is the second seed, while Milos Raonic is seeded third. Rafael Nadal is at five and the young guns Nick Kyrgios and Alexander Zverev are at 12 and 16, respectively.
Federer is likely to meet Argentine Juan Martin del Potro in the pre-quarter finals. Tomas Berdych could offer him resistance in the quarter finals. If he overcomes all these hurdles, Wawrinka will be waiting for him in the semi finals. The good thing about Federer’s draw is that he does not need to face Nadal or any other top seeds till the final. Check the odds in favour of Federer look increasingly attractive if you go by the draw.
Nadal is equally well set to reach the finals. The hard court has never been his favourite surface. Still he will fancy his chance against the young guns like Nishikori, Raonic, and others. There is a chance that some of the young one, for example, Kyrgios, might overpower him. However, he looks in good form to reach the last four.
Wawrinka is another one who can go all the way to lift the title. He usually plays at his best in grand slam crowns. However, he has the tenacity and skill sets to defeat both Nadal and Federer. However, he has been too inconsistent right through his career. Think twice before putting your money on him at 12BET.com
