Washington Wizards opened the NBA season with a 120-115 win against Philadelphia 76ers at the Capital One Center in Washington D.C.

John Wall led the team with his 28 points, eight assists and five rebounds to spoil the debuts of 76ers top picks Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz.

“I put a lot of hard work and dedication into this summer. Just being healthy and able to work but without my teammates, those guys making shots and playing defense and setting screens for me, I wouldn’t be able to be the player I am.” Wall said

In addition, Bradley Beal scored 25 points while Marcin Gortat added 16 points with 17 rebounds.

On the other end, it was Robert Covington who led for the 76ers with his 29 points, made seven three-pointers and seven rebounds. (Check 12BET for more Free Betting Tips)

The 2016 No.1 overall pick Ben Simmons notched 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Sixers while Joel Embiid had 18 points, 13 boards and a block.

In fact, Philadelphia already cut the lead to two in the final minute of the game but a pair of turnover and a three-point missed by J.J. Redick allowed the Wizards to grab the victory.

Moving forward, the Wizards will stay at home next game to host Andre Drummond and the Detroit Pistons while Sixers will go back home to prepare the visit of the Boston Celtics on Saturday.
