Four-time NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo has reached an agreement with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Pelicans have announced that they signed free agent guard Rondo and he’s deep career through the NBA will continue in 2017-18 season with the team.
According to multiple reports, Rondo agreed to a one-year deal with the Pelicans but as per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
“We are excited to welcome Rajon to the New Orleans Pelicans. Throughout his NBA career, Rajon has showed that he’s a great competitor, leader and teammate with significant playoff experience.” said Pelicans Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Dell Demps
By joining the New Orleans, the 11-year veteran point guard will be reunited with his former Sacramento Kings teammate DeMarcus Cousin, with whom he became close during the 2015-16 season.
The 31-year-old All-Star was drafted 21st overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft by Phoenix Suns and has played in 714 career NBA contests with Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento and the Chicago Bulls with a career average of 10.7 points, 8.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals.
In 2016-17 season with the Bulls, Rondo, a member of the 2008 NBA Champion Celtics, appeared in 69 games for Chicago and got an average of 7.8 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per contest.
