Stoke City F.C. is thrilled to confirm the signing of Cameroon international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting after spending the last three seasons with the German club FC Schalkle 04.
Choupo-Moting has signed a three-year deal with the club on a free transfer at bet365 Stadium, England.
It was Chief Executive Tony Scholes who announced the said transfer.
“Eric has been on our radar for several years and we actually tried to bring him to the Club four years ago. The competition to sign him this summer was particularly intense with clubs across Europe wanting him. We are understandably thrilled to have secured his signature and Eric is excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League.” Scholes said
The 28-year-old Cameroon international is the Potters’ fourth summer signing after Darren Fletcher, Kurt Zouma and Josh Tymon.
In 2010 World Cup at South Africa, Choupo-Moting represented the Cameroon national football team and has won 48 caps with 13 goals scored.
Choupo-Moting will now train with his new teammates in preparation for the Premier League opener on August 12, Saturday, against Everton F.C. at Goodison Park.
