Given Real Madrid’s performance this season, it cannot be avoided that talks over the possibility of manager Zinedine Zidane’s dismissal arises.
But Thierry Henry has called talk of Real chief’s sacking as comical. He said, “To even talk about Zizou getting the sack is comical to me with what he has done.
“Can he not have a little pause on the run that he had with his team? It goes with the job, because when you don’t perform they ask questions, but come on, he has done a tremendous job.”
Last weekend, the reigning champs were beaten by long-time rivals Barcelona in the latest edition of the Clasico with a 3-0 defeat for Zidane’s men.
The result has further sunk the Los Blancos in the fourth spot of the Spanish La Liga table, with 14 points behind the leading Barca.
Nevertheless, the French coach can be recalled to have led the club to two Champions League title victory and one La Liga title.
Henry furthered, “I like to bring it back to when he arrived,”
“At the beginning, they were not playing the way Real Madrid fans wanted to see them play, but they were winning games. So people were saying Zizou is a great tactician because he recognized that the midfielder needed an enforcer more than four Galacticos.”
At the end, Henry also noted that the coach gives you tactic and plan, but it is the team that needs to execute it with what’s happening on the field.
