Former Middleweight champion Anderson Silva expressed his intentions to have a rematch against Nick Diaz in the UFC, two months after threatening to retire from MMA.
In his official Instagram account, Silva posted a video with Diaz calling a rematch as he believes that their previous five-round fight was one of the best in the history of UFC.
“I believe this was one of the best fights in the history of this sport. With all my respect Nick, let’s show how it’s done. I will wait your reply, maximum respect to the Diaz family.” Silva wrote
The 42-year-old fighter last fought at UFC 208 in February where he got a contested unanimous decision win against Derek Brunson.
On the other end, the last time that Diaz stepped inside the Octagon was in January 2015 at UFC 183 when he faced Silva two years ago.
The Brazilian “Spider” officially won on the scorecards but the fight was overturned to a no contest because they failed their post-fight drug tests.
Silva has 34-8 MMA, 17-4 UFC record and Diaz owns 26-10 MMA, 7-7 in UFC.
