USA Grand Prix, Austin: Online betting review

As the USA Grand Prix wrooms to a start at the Circuit of the Americas, Austin, tomorrow, the fate of Lewis Hamilton title aspirations will hang in balance. Just three races remain after this. Hamilton is trailing his team-mate Nico Rosberg by 33 points. This is perhaps the last chance for Hamilton. If he cannot cut the deficit in this race, he can kiss goodbye to his title-defending bid. The odds of online betting are heavily stacked against them. What Hamilton needs is a win at the USA Grand Pix. He will be over the moon if Rosberg finishes without any points too.

Such wishful thinking is of no use in sports and in online betting. Rosberg is in terrific form of late, having won four of the last five races. Hamilton had won four consecutive races prior to that. He needs to win the next four races to turn the tables around.

About USA Grand Prix

It is one of the oldest grand prixs around even though it is not conducted continuously. The circuit is a typical mix of fast straight roads and acute corners. The circuit is 5.516 km long. The race involves 56 laps. Hamilton has won here four times: 2007, 2012, 2013 and 2014. But Michael Schumacher has won the title five times here. Hamilton can equal Schumacher’s record with a win tomorrow.

Rosberg has not won here. He was at the pole position last year. But he could finish only second even though he registered the fastest lap of the race last year. He does not  have to win this race to keep his title chances alive. He needs to finish ahead of Hamilton or finish as close to Hamilton as possible. As for online betting, Rosberg should be the red hot favourite.
