Along with the feisty batting, continuous chitter-chatter and unbelievable acrobatics Rishabh Pant showcased throughout the fourth Test match at Ahmedabad, the wicketkeeper-batsman ended his note in the series with a hilarious answer to commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle. The incident happened when Bhogle commented on Pant’s parallel commentary behind the stumps. The cricket star was presented with the man of the match trophy for a brilliant century.

Pant was quick to hit back saying, “Sir ye compliment to theek hai but aap log improve karo fir thoda apna.” (Translation: Sir, if it is a compliment then it is okay. But still you guys, improve your commentary).

Bhogle could only laugh, looking at Pant steal the spotlight once again. It was because of combined efforts of Pant, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin and Rohit Sharma that India managed to win the fourth Test match by an innings and 25 runs. While Ravichandran Ashwin bagged his eighth man of the series award, Pant was awarded with the man of the match.

While receiving the trophy, Rishabh Pant also threw light on the way he reverse-flicked – Jimmy Anderson – arguably the best swing bowler in the current Test scene.

“I think the drills have helped, and my confidence has helped, transferring it from my batting to my keeping. This was a very important innings, especially with the team under pressure. We were in a tough situation at 146-6 and there is nothing better than performing when the team needs you the most. If I get the chance to reverse-flick a fast bowler again, I definitely would.”

What Joe Root Said About Rishabh Pant; What Next For Team India?

The opposition skipper Joe Root also praised the glovesman’s efforts both with the bat and behind the stumps.
