The final test of the two-match series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand starts tomorrow at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. It is rare that both the tests of a series are held at the same venue. But it is exactly what is happening here. It is not very encouraging for the hosts, though. They lost the first test by an innings and 117 runs. It is an easy picking for cricket betting. New Zealand are gearing up for an encore in the second test.
New Zealand’s chances
Everything is going for the Kiwis. The batsmen are scoring runs and bowlers are taking wickets. Tom Latham, Ross Taylor and the ever reliable Kane Williamson scored heavily in the only innings they got in the first test. In the bowling front, left arm fast bowlers Trent Boult and Neil Wagner were lethal and took truckloads of wickets. There is no reason why New Zealand cannot continue the same trend.
Nothing was going for the hosts. Their batsmen surrendered meekly in the first innings. None of the batters managed to score a fifty. They put up an improved performance in the second innings, with Sean Williams scoring a century and Craig Ervine scoring a half century. But those performances were not good enough to prevent an innings win. Zimbabwe’s chances look hopelessly slim.
Zimbabwe has not scored a test win over New Zealand. There have been 16 tests overall between these sides. New Zealand won ten, while the other six were draws. New Zealand have a particularly impressive record at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, where they have won four of the five matches played.
It is perhaps the easiest of cricket betting predictions. If not for rain intervention, New Zealand are going to win this match comfortably.
