It is the clash at the top of the table, as the two most in-form sides of this tournament lock horns for bragging rights and for the battle for the top spot. Both teams have been absolutely peerless, and a league above the rest in terms of their sheer consistency to deliver match-winning performances. While one team has been excellent from the start, the other took a while before making its presence felt to the rest of the tournament. The IPL 2021 tournament wasn’t good at all for SRH.
This is definitely bound to be a big IPL match and a hard-fought contest in the tournament. The Titans will be eager for payback, as the Sunrisers have got the better of them with a rather comfortable victory, the only time that the Titans looked vulnerable. They will be hoping to put a much better fight this time around. Will they be able to get the better of the Sunrisers will be a different matter altogether.
The pleasant surprise of this year’s tournament. The Titans have taken to the IPL like the proverbial duck to water. They have been a class apart in the key moments of every game, showing their ability to win close games as well as stamping their authority on the games that they are expected to be the better team.
There have been multiple performers who have time and again put their hand up and delivered when it mattered, the forefront of this being the skipper himself, leading from the front and ensuring that the rest of them follow suit. This team has been better than the early predictions had expected it to be, and that s all down to the hive mentality of the side, and their place at the top of the table is wholly deserved.
If the league thought that the current form of the Sunrisers was a statistical anomaly, their performance the other day against the Royal Challengers will have made them think again. After losing the first 2 games of the season, the Sunrisers have seemed to flick on a switch, and have gone on an absolute tear ever since. Each and every team that has faced them has been reduced to rubble by some utterly sensational performances from the Orange army.
Their performance against RCB, however, took their stature to the next level. That game was a perfect example of what this team can do if everything goes right. They utterly decimated the Challengers from start to end, breathing fire with the ball, and then ensuring that the target was achieved with minimum fuss. Whisper it slowly, but this team is getting dangerous every passing game, and take them lightly at your own risk.
These sides met earlier in the season, with the Sunrisers emerging winners after a comfortable 8-wicket win with 5 balls to spare.
Both teams have been in excellent form and have been consistent in all departments. This game is definitely going to be decided by which team will manage to keep their heads when the situation demands. Expect the Titans to be very slight favorites, but this game can go either way.
