India will face Afghanistan in Match Day 33 of the Super 12 round in the ICC World T20 2021. Both teams need to win this game to keep their hopes for a semi-final berth alive. India will be desperate to win the match, as they have been playing some poor live cricket and are yet to register their first win of the tournament.
India have made a catastrophic start to their ICC World T20 2021 campaign in the first cricket match. They suffered a crushing 10 wickets defeat against their arch rivals Pakistan in the first match of the ICC World T20 2021. No one barring Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant could score some runs in that game, as their top order were blown away by Shaheen Shah Afridi. The bowling looked ordinary and clueless as Pakistan chased down the total without losing any wicket.
In the second match against New Zealand, their batting order suffered even worse collapse, as they slipped to an 8-wicket defeat against New Zealand. Currently, they are standing at the brink of World Cup elimination right from the group stage. They not only have to win the remaining there matches against Afghanistan, Namibia and Scotland, but also win them convincingly. They also have to depend on other results.
Afghanistan produced another precise performance with the ball to limit Namibia to 98/9 and cruise to a 62-run win in a T20 World Cup 2021 Super 12 encounter in Abu Dhabi.
Afghanistan’s pacers answered to the task, taking eight of Namibia’s nine wickets, reversing the team’s image as a spin bowling powerhouse. Within three overs of the innings, Naveen Ul Haq (3-26) dismissed the openers before Hamid Hassan (3-9) and Gulbadin Naib (2-19) ripped through the middle and lower-middle order.
India and Afghanistan have faced each other in 2 T20I’s and India have gone on to win both of them
India have made a horror start to the tournament losing both of their starting games against Pakistan and New Zealand. Their confidence is down as a team, after how they lost both of their matches. On the other hand, Afghanistan are flying high having won 2 out of the 3 matches they have played and they are certainly the in-form team. However, given the quality India has at their disposal, we will expect them to come in handy against Afghanistan and win the match.
