As the commentators say, it is a double header day in the Indian Premier League this Sunday. In simple terms, it means there are two games. In an online betting point of view, you have multiple options for wagering.

The two matches for the day are:

  • Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab
  • Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Both the matches are going to be closely fought affairs. There are no easy pickings. Still, you can check out the odds here. If you still have not got an account at 12bet, you can get it right here.

Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils

This can be dubbed as the clash between generations. Kings XI Punjab are full of over-the-hill players and while a majority of Delhi Daredevils are up and coming players. The Punjab side has a couple of glaring draw backs. First, their pace bowling stock is somewhat limited. Second, they do not have a specialist wicket keeper. KL Rahul in all likelihood will keep wickets.

Apart from that Kings XI have most bases covered. They have a terrific batting line-up, at least on paper: Aaron Finch, KL Rahul (wk), Karun Nair, Yuvraj Singh, and David Miller. They have the option of playing Chris Gayle as well. They have two proven spinners in skipper R Ashwin and Axar Patel.

It is tempting to put your money on the Punjab side in online betting – that is, till you look at the team sheet of Delhi Daredevils.

Daredevils will miss Kagiso Rabada, who is out with injury. Still, they have a good fast-bowling line-up, comprising Trent Boult, Mohammed Shami and Chris Morris. The spin bowling department too is well stocked with Amit Mishra and Shahbaz Nadeem.

The batting too is an exciting mix of proven stars and hard-hitters who can turn the game on its head in a couple of overs: Gautam Gambhir, Colin Munro, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Glenn Maxwell.

Prediction for online betting: Delhi Daredevils to score a narrow win.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

This match will bring back Virat Kohli into action after a brief hiatus. He will lead a very strong Bangalore side, which also has AB de Villiers, Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock. No score is going to be safe against them. RCB were traditionally weak in bowling. The same is the case this time also. They have two of the in-form spinners in the world cricket at the moment: Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal. Apart from that their bowling could leak runs that would put pressure on their illustrious batsmen.

Against the hard hitters of Knight Riders, such as Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell and even Sunil Narine, the RCB bowlers will have a difficult initiation to the IPL. Unlike RCB, KKR have a well-rounded bowling unit as well, comprising Mitchell Johnson, Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Vinay Kumar.

This is going to be an unpredictable match. The side batting second is likely to win.

Prediction for online betting: Royal Challengers are likely to edge out Knight Riders.
