Mesut Ozil expressed his preference to stay with Arsenal and will hold talks once the Gunners are back from pre-season tour in Australia and China.
Ozil, said in a statement, “It is definitely my preference to stay.
“Once everyone is back in London, we will sit down and discuss the future. I have always said that I feel very good at Arsenal.”
The 28-year-old has 12 more months in the club. Despite this, rumors are widespread over his departure. And the bigger issue to face is whether or not he will extend contract to be with Arsene Wenger’s squad.
On the other hand, the lack of potential offers from other European clubs that could meet the midfielder’s wage demand, suggests that Ozil necessitates staying at the Emirates in the next term.
Arsenal have also put forward an attractive deal of their own which amounts to a basic £280,000 per week. The German midfielder’s current wage is £140,000-a-week
Meanwhile,Wenger and his men are bound to clash with Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday (standby for betting tips).
