Liverpool back into top four after thumping Swansea

Liverpool managed to climb back up in the top four of the Premier League after defeating Swansea City in Boxing Day with a 5-0 win at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho fired home the score opener six minutes after kick off. Second half deliveries from Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain extended Liverpool’s unbeaten run to 14 matches.

In a post-match interview, club manager Jurgen Klopp said, “We had, even in a not really good first half, enough chances to score two or three goals. That should be enough. I was not disappointed at half-time,” Klopp told a news conference.

“We did better in the second half. After the game, you look and it’s 5-0 and you think: ‘Wow, 5-0. Easy game.’.

“It wasn’t an easy game. It wasn’t an easy game and I have no problem with that. Absolutely not. I’m really happy about about the things we learned from the game.

“It’s a perfect result for us. Nobody injured as far as I know and a very important three points, five goals, clean sheet. It’s all good.”

Meanwhile, the Reds’ upcoming battle will be against Leicester City and Burnley (make sure to get the best betting odds). Players Jordan Henderson and Alberto Moreno are both not expected to feature here as the two unfortunately sustained hamstring and ankle injury, respectively.
